Thanks for visiting my site and this little blog post. As a Hawke's Bay Wedding Photographer and Hawkes Bay Videographer I have been to lots and lots of wedding venues here. Some private, some lovely, some are very argicultural. However I think we are blessed with some amazing Wedding Venues in Hawke's Bay, obviously some beautiful spots in amazing settings. Here are some of my picks in no particular order. And this is not sponsored, and it was written by me by my own hand, and I'm no journalist or copywriter which you're about to find out.

Black Barn River Room, Hastings
This is an amazing venue for a smaller wedding for up to about 60 guests. Set overlooking the Tukituki River and the back of Te Mata Peak, this venue has amazing views.
The event staff are attentive, the stone walls and modern architectural river room is stylish and the venue is suitable for summer and winter weddings, with a commercial kitchen, heating, outdoor fireplace, Coney Island lounge chairs, and grass and paved spots to get married. As a Hawke's Bay Photographer I've shot here many times and I've always enjoyed the weddings here, and have gotten some amazing shots because it is such a spectacular, breathtaking setting.

The Old Church, Meeanee, Napier
The Old Church is great for large and small weddings and there are over 10 different spots where you can choose to have your ceremony, and you're able to fit lots of people comfortably inside and outside for both ceremony and the meal or canapes afterwards. Run by Orton's, one of Hawke's Bay's most respected and established catering companies, your in good hands with experienced staff and lots of options for wet and dry weather.
The venue is not far from beautiful reserves where you can go offsite for photos, but some couples elect to stay on site. You also have the option to get ready at the villa onsite, to really make getting there and back ultra convenient and easy.
Terrace View Winery, Maraekakaho, Hawke's Bay
Terrace views has some amazing expansive views and a grand deck perfect for lawn games, drinks, mingling, and warming yourself by an outside fireplace if the weather gets colder or night sets in. It's also a great wet weather venue with a cellar that can fit 60 or so people easily.
Maraekakaho where this venue is located has some really beautiful scenery, and farmlands, and of course Terrace Views iteself has beautiful, massive grouds, a waterfall, and a statement grand building.
An experieced set of staff, a dancefloor, and a full kitchen round out the features.
St Georges Restaurant, Havelock North
This Hawke's Bay Wedding Venue is good for small and medium sized weddings. Renowned as a restaurant in its own right, this is a pretty garden venue set at the foothills of Te Mata Peak.
You can choose to get married in the couryard, inside, or in the grounds. For meals you can choose to have garden service or use the beautiful a-frame upstairs for intimate feeling celebrations. With a polished concrete floors and white walls this venue lets you design your own wedding without painting you into an aesthetic or colour palette corner.
Handily located near Te Mata Peak, the Tukituki River, and orchards, you've got lots of choices if spots for photography and videography here. With it being on the outskirts of well to do Havelock North and the more reasonably priced Hastings, there will be plenty of comfortable, safe, well appointed accommodation options for all budgets for your out of town guests.
The Atrium, Hastings
One of Hawke's Bays newer and more exciting wedding venues bringing some much needed urban chic to wedding venues in Hawke's Bay.
With a centrepiece spiral staircase, festoon lights, polished concrete floors, a beverage garden, cathedral ceilings and an industrial, minimal aesthetic this venue offers lots of scope to create a beautiful modern wedding here.
There is an air of this being a cool, new venue, so check this out for your Hawke's Bay Wedding. As a Bay Photographer I was lucky enough to shoot the very first wedding here, and it was lovely.
Crab Farm Winery, Bay View, Hawke's Bay
This Hawke's Bay Wedding Venue is rustic. Lots of wood, lots of driftwood, lots of charm, lots of chunky wood tables, lots of hearty food. This venue is great for alt weddings, folk weddings, low key weddings, relaxed weddings and for a good time.
There is an enourmous winter hearth to keep the chills away in winter and autumn, and in summer the sun kisses almost every corner of the venue. You can choose to get married in the rustic pergola, and get your pew benches out for that.
For intimate wedding affairs there is a treehouse vibe upstairs, where you can share a meal with just a few people in comfort and relaxation. You will be able to sample the house wine, no matter where you dine. And it's a family owned business.
If you want something a little different, and if you want relaxation, warmth, intimacy and don't mind it being unrefined - then this could be the Hawkes Bay wedding venue for you. For your out of town guests this is probably the first main settlement you hit driving in to Napier, and it's under 5 minutes drive from the airport and less than 10 minutes from Napier City.
Mission Estate Winery, Taradale, Napier
Under fresh management Mission Estate has had a style injection lately. With beautiful established gardens, a beautiful historic venue and chapel, beautiful views, and situated near the airport and easily accessible, this is a great option as a Hawkes Bay Wedding Venue for weddings of all sizes.
The large ceilings of the chapel have to be seen to be truly taken in. The small stage is perfect as a dancefloor. You have the marquee name of Mission Estate, the famous concert venue, restaurant and prestigious winery - one of the oldest wineries in the country.
You're also really near parks and reserves if you would prefer photos offsite, but really the Mission grounds themselves are amazing and offer lots of options at all times of the year. Also with the option to stay on the grounds, including a wine cellar, this makes the Mission a great choice as your Hawke's Bay Wedding Venue.
Bostock Winery, Hastings, Hawke's Bay
This venue is large and well appointed. There is an absolutely huge wedding grand hall, that seems capable of seating at least 130 people. It's actually hard to get this information, as there doesn't seem to be a website for information and hiring of this venue.
However it's got large, expansive, green lawns, a horsehoe shaped set of stables for serving drinks or for getting out of the sun, cold, or rain as the case may be, and a beautiful and elegant fountain and pond that you can get married directly in front of.
There are also large, shady trees onsite that you can catch some shade in, set up a garden bar in, and have some photos or video taken in.
Meadowood House Wedding Venue, Hastings
With a beautiful Art Deco era historic house to get ready in, some vines, gardens and trees, some rural outlook and some amazing grand Tipi Tents, Meadowood House has a lot going for it for a garden style wedding.
Get a drinks truck, get a food truck and gather some guests because this venue has everything you'll need right on site.
With exciting new owners taking over the reigns, we shall see what the future holds for this lovely venue.
Waiterenui, Rural Hastings, Hawke's Bay
Basically a large barn with some beautiful rolling hills set in Hawke's Bay farmland. Green hills in spring, to golden hues on the hills in summer. Most events are managed with a caterer and drinks services brought in and the venue is family run by a husband and wife team who own the farm, an agus beef farm.
As a Hawke's Bay Photographer I have to say it's an amazing spot for wedding photos, and for a ceremony. The barn is big enough to accomodate medium and large weddings, and provide shelter from sun, wind and rain for guests if need be, as well as provide a spectacular garden relaxed vibe for guests.
Guests are often bussed in en masse to the ceremony by private charters, but there is parking on site.
