I’m Michael, a Hawke’s Bay Photographer. My work takes me all over New Zealand and I love photographing people and places, and people's connection to eachother, their families, their friends, and those places. I was born in Australia but have lived in New Zealand most of my life. I grew up in Mangere Bride, South Auckland before moving to Napier, Hawke's Bay in 2015.

I love wedding photography and have a particular interest in developing my wedding videography and that’s mainly what I do. I also do portraits, engagement sessions, couple sessions, family sessions and maternity sessions.

When I’m not working I’m into family, friends, hiking, music, film, art, tech and design.

I you have followed my on socials at all, you may have picked up an irreverent, cheeky, silly, dad joke laden sense of humour. If you want to follow me, my social links are sprinkled on here of course. I strive to foster an environment of relaxation, trust, ease and spontaneity so that people can express themselves and express their intimacy with each other. I tell a lot of dad jokes. I’ve found this approach helps even people who aren’t normally comfortable in front of a camera to relax.

My wedding photography could be described as modern film influenced, romantic, with an analogue, intimate, spontaneous eye. Just recently I have changed up my style to keep things interesting. I'm talking cleaner, lighter, more neutral edits, direct flash, shutter dragging, dutch tilts, and artistic blur here and there. My wedding videography? I'll get back to you on how I describe that - it's a work in progress.

All editing of photos are by me. All wedding films going forward are being edited by me - except you will see older, associate shot wedding films were not shot by me nor edited by me because these date to before I learned filming and editing for myself.
