Kate put a lot of trust and faith in me for her farm wedding. She changed her date because I was already booked. She trusted my opinion with helping her with timings for her day. She used people I recommended to her. She painted a beautiful barn on her parents property – her and Rikki turned up to our engagement session with black paint on them. This monolithic monument was made by Kate’s father and installed on their family farm. The day before the wedding it was like a construction site and Kate was the foreman. On her day, there was no videographer. There was no second photographer. Hell, they forbade phones during the ceremony. So I needed to do my best work and make what Kate envisioned for her day a beautiful, real, connected thing. As a Hawke’s Bay photographer I am thankful to Kate and all the brides that put their faith in me and trust me to make my own little hue and compositional concoction x PS see how many times you can spot Hen the dog in these photos!
